The AFSer's Guide to Getting There Vol. II, issue 3

In October's newsletter, we posed the question, "For you, what's so great about the idea of studying abroad? Why do you want to go?" We asked and you answered! The reasons people gave were pretty diverse and enlightening. Sit back and take a moment to read the many reasons to study abroad submitted by students like you across the U.S.—you might even see your own response! If you missed out on answering the question, visit the Study Abroad Bulletin Board where you can post your own thoughts.

This month, learn more about Egypt and read about an AFSer's experience in Cairo this past summer.

*In Egypt, a man greets a woman with a handshake only if she extends her hand first.

*We owe our calendar of 365 days to ancient Egyptians. They were the first to divide the day and night into 24 hours and to use clocks.

Egypt is the most populous country in the Arab world and the second-most populous on the African Continent. AFS offers a summer or year abroad in Egypt.
