Turkey

For a lovely country that is sure to steal your heart, Turkey is your ticket. This Europe-meets-Asia gem bridges two continents, two cultures, and thousands of years. Its white sand beaches, Roman ruins, and dazzling Turquoise Coast make it one of the world's top 10 travel destinations. Into city life? The young and vibrant culture of Istanbul with its black tea, street vendors, and Grand Bazaar will certainly leave you head over heels. Even better, Turkey has a world class reputation for unrivaled hospitality and smiling faces.

If Turkey sounds inspiring, check out this great Turkey scholarship. You could win up to $2,000 just for choosing this amazing destination. In total, seven $2000 scholarships for the high school year program and two $1,000 scholarships for the summer homestay will be awarded. To qualify, submit your full application by February 29th.

Thailand
My AFS Experience
AFSer to Thailand: Lee Webb tells what its like for an American exchange student in South East Asia

"As we watched the coast of California disappear from the 747, we had no idea what we were getting into. As for me, I've gotten myself into a wonderful cultural experience. Living amongst Thai people, I've noticed myself changing for the better. I'm becoming more patient and open minded about everything. I've learned to 'ja yen yen' which means to just take it easy and stop stressing over the little things."

AFS offers year, semester, and summer programs to Thailand.
