Plates adorn the broad wooden table. All
three members of the Eubanks family bow their
heads for grace. It is the picturesque
American family dinner, except for one
thing.
The youngest member of the family is not a
Christian. Her last name is not actually
Eubanks. And she is not an American.
Akemi Shibuta is a Japanese foreign exchange
student. But she is a member of the Eubanks
family. She calls Ruthanne and Dennie mom and
dad.
Biographies of AFS
Exchange Students
We're providing biographies of AFS Exchange
Students so that you can envision what it
would be like to share your day-to-day life
with a new family member. Below are examples
of students who will be participating with
AFS.
If you and your family are interested in
hosting an exchange student, fill out the
hosting
interest form. We'll then connect you
with a local volunteer to discuss specific
students in your area.
