The AFS Pre-Departure Orientation (PDO) is critical in preparing participants for a successful and rewarding experience as exchange students abroad.
Participation in the PDO is mandatory for outbound students, including attendance of at least one guardian / family member.
The five central components of the AFS pre-departure orientation are: AFS & You (working with AFS procedures), Personal Safety, Goals and Expectations, Cultural Learning, and Cultural Adjustment and Coping. Please contact us for more information on your PDO, if needed.
