9/17/2007 - Redlands-Yucaipa AFS and Colton AFS area teams ice cream social Thursday
The newly reorganized Citrus Valley American Field Service Chapter will have its yearly ice cream social on Thursday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m. at the home of Phil and Linda Livoni, 705 West Highland Ave. in Redlands.
The re-organized organization is a merger of the Redlands-Yucaipa AFS and the Colton AFS units. The theme for the ice cream social will be celebrating AFS 60th anniversary as a high school exchange organization.
The ice cream social is open to friends of the exchange students, their families and friends and supporters of the AFS program. The Yucaipa-Redlands unit has been operational since 1955.
The ice cream social will recognize Selina Buechler from Switzerland and host family Dennis and Linda Rotondo of Redlands, Cleber Carvalho from Brazil and host family Phil and Priya Morlock of Grand Terrace, Giulia Serracchioli from Italy and host family James and Denis Marshall from Colton, Elettra Vestri from Italy and host family Wayne Andreasen and Aleisha Schechter, Porranee Singliam from Thailand and host family James and Anita Matlock from Yucaipa, Carianne Van Holst from the Netherlands and host family Alvern and Frances Miersma from Redlands.
The students attend local high schools.

The group is sponsoring a fund raiser Oct. 9 at 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Gourmet Pizza Shoppe, 120 East State St., in Redlands.
