Five former Brandywine High School exchange students returned to Delaware in August to celebrate the 90th birthday of their “American mother,” who hosted their original American Field Service exchange several decades ago.

The five all graduated from Brandywine after spending a year with Phyllis and Dr. Carl Maynard, of Windsor Hills. Carl passed away in 1997; Phyllis moved to Cokesbury Village and married widower Bill Stanton in 2005
