7/20/2007 - A Hosting Experience in Words

We came from divergent places
But you welcomed us
In your abode of hospitality and benevolence
And together we defied differences.
You filled us with your generosity
For that we will be forever grateful.

This journey has done so much.
We learned more insights,
We realized some reasons.
Without it, life for us
Would be different,
But you made a change in us.

We used to be oblivious teenagers,
But you let us grow
Into confident, vigilant, young adults.
A lot of things have changed
Since we arrived,
But now, departure is in the air.

It is life’s little trick,
To begin something wonderful,
And then compel us to say goodbye.
It is now time for this journey to end,
But we know that love
Will keep on growing in our hearts.

Our memories together will be kept always.
The distance is only a space in between,
And they couldn’t be a hindrance
To hearts that keep on growing fonder.
Life must go on, and we must move along,
But you will all, always, be part of our lives.

Thank you for the opportunity you’ve given us.
The thoughts you shared with us.
The times we spent together,
And all the experiences we went through.
They will all be remembered
For the rest of our lives.

Sadness is in every one of us
Now that we are leaving soon.
Something we knew before,
But still we are not prepared.
We didn’t see it coming, for
Time has flown so fast.

People come and go
And time passes us by,
But they will leave something
We will treasure forever.
After all this time,
Life will never be the same for us.
