We’re providing biographies of AFS Exchange Students so that you can envision what it would be like to share your day-to-day life with a new family member. Below are examples of students who will be participating with AFS.
If you and your family are interested in hosting an exchange student, fill out the hosting interest form. We’ll then connect you with a local volunteer to discuss specific students in your area.
Natalia from Chile

Natalia loves all sports but has been doing gymnastics since she was a young child. She comes from a family of 5 children and is close with her siblings. Natalia enjoys the outdoors, spending time with her friends, watching movies and eating pizza. She hopes to study occupational therapy in the future because she would like to help people with their problems. Natalia is described as responsible, friendly, quiet and organized. |
Enrico from Italy

Enrico has played basketball for 9 years, practicing 3 times a week. He also enjoys swimming, snowboarding, kite surfing, and rugby. He is sociable and has many friends. He attends a classical high school and is motivated to make good grades. He helps with cooking, irons his own clothes, and helps take care of his brothers. He speaks Italian, German and English. He is interested in art, design and architecture. |
Tomomi from Japan

Tomomi is very cheerful and has a friendly personality. She makes friends easily and is respected by classmates. She is bright and studious. Tomomi is a very flexible person who loves children and dreams of being a kindergarten teacher and teaching children English. Currently she lives with her parents, grandparents, and younger sis. Tomomi is anxious to experience a new culture and share her culture. |
Yanhan from China

Yanhan is an outstanding student who is respected and liked by his peers. He enjoys reading, playing soccer, badminton, table tennis, and basketball. Yanhan has an open, trusting relationship with his parents and considers himself as a friend with them. They give him much freedom because he demonstrates such responsibility. He has traveled independently and shows curiosity and interest in different cultures and foods. |
