Begin your AFS Study Abroad Application by submitting the Preliminary Application in one of three ways.
1) Submit your preliminary application online.
2) Call 1-800-AFS-INFO.
3) Download a printable copy here and mail or fax it in.
Preliminary Application Fee:
You can pay the $75 application fee by check, credit card, or money order. To pay by credit card, please submit your application online or call 1-800-AFS-INFO. To pay by check or money order, please mail or fax your preliminary application and payment to the AFS Info Center. Make checks and money orders payable to AFS.
The $75.00 application fee is non-refundable. The fee is waived for Congress Bundestag applicants and AFS Returnees.
What’s next?
Once you submit your preliminary application, you will receive an email with instructions for completing your full application. If you do not have an email address we will send an application in the mail.
Tips for applying:
• Because high school programs fill quickly, we encourage students to apply early for the broadest range of country, program, and scholarship availability. It’s never too early to apply!
• Be sure to renew or apply for your passport without delay to ease the process of obtaining travel documents.
