AFS Jobs

AFS-USA is particularly proud of its staff of approximately 150 people nationwide, located in three Regional Service Centers and the National Service Center in New York City. The three Regional Service Centers are located in:

Portland, Oregon
St. Paul, Minnesota
Baltimore, Maryland

Regional Service Center staff work in partnership with our volunteers to provide quality programs and support to participants and host families, ensuring that regional goals are met, and expanding AFS’s outreach and services. Regional Service Center positions usually require individuals to have experience in coordinating community volunteers and promoting educational experiences, strong communication and cross-cultural skills, and a valid driver’s license. It is not necessary for applicants to be multilingual, although it is a plus.

The National Service Center staff work together with the Regional Service Center staff to deliver quality AFS programs. National Service Center positions are often available in fundraising, marketing and communications, management information systems, finance and accounting, program operations, travel and logistics, and human resources.
