What is AFS Global Connections?
AFS Global Connections is a program that provides tangible rewards for volunteer- and teacher-led recruiting efforts. Global Connections Nominators (”Nominators”) earn credits towards these rewards when they identify a student who registers to go on an AFS program.
Who can become a Global Connections Nominator?
Educators, AFS returnees and other AFS volunteers can register with Global Connections and nominate students to study abroad with AFS.
I sometimes help students connect with other exchange programs, not just AFS. May I participate?
Yes. Exclusive promotion of AFS programs is not a requirement.
Sign up here and you can start nominating students within minutes. Although it is not a requirement to nominate, we will encourage you eventually to register as a full-fledged AFS Volunteer, providing you additional privileges such as training sessions, the use of materials provided by AFS, and reimbursement of approved, AFS-related expenses. Registration as an AFS Volunteer requires additional steps, including a reference and criminal background check. We require that you register as an AFS Volunteer prior to redeeming your Connections Credits.
How many credits will I receive?
When a student you nominated submits a full application and tuition deposit, you will receive two Connections Credits. Click to read more about how Connections Credits work.
